She then, headed to Los Angeles, California, as a news correspondent for a year until 2015. In these times she covered important news like crises and disasters. She also went to Ukraine for her new research. One of her major news was about an ISIS-inspired gunman who appeared in parliament. Ahern was also named the first TV reporter from Australia in Ottawa.
